Alabama State, Bethune-Cookman to Play in 2012 MEAC/SWAC Challenge

Bethune-Cookman University and Alabama State University will meet in the 8th Annual MEAC-SWAC Challenge on Sept. 2 in Orlando’s Florida Citrus Bowl. It will be the season opener for both the Wildcats and Hornets, both 8-3 on the season in 2011.
It will be Bethune-Cookman’s second straight appearance in the game, which defeated Prairie View A&M in last year’s challenge 63-14. Alabama State will be appearing for the second time in the Challenge’s history, with their first in the inaugural game in 2005, when the Hornets were defeated by South Carolina State 27-14.
