Albany State Kicks Off "Go Green Week"

Albany State University kicked off its campus-wide, “Go Green” initiative yesterday, and will be putting a unique spin on the call for conservation throughout the week. From Fox 31 Online:
Albany State University held its “Go Green Week” kickoff worship service Sunday morning. This year’s theme is Project Planet—Earth, Body, and Soul. The university will hold “green games” Tuesday, and a “Go Green” forum Wednesday. All the events lead up to Earth Day on Thursday.
“This year we’re focusing on physical health on that day,” said William Wright, ASU’s Manager of Community Development in Housing and Residence Life. “We’re having a blood drive in conjunction with the American Red Cross. We’ve gotten in contact with Phoebe’s Network of Trust, and we have different people coming out to do HIV tests.
How interesting to take the Earth Day banner and wrap in a physical health initiative. How can you save the earth without first saving yourself? Interesting premise that I hope resonates with the ASU community.
