Alcorn State Mourns Death of Alum Michael Clarke Duncan

Alcorn State University tonight released a statement of condolences to the family of alum Michael Clarke Duncan, a well-known actor best known for his role in the feature film ‘The Green Mile’ who died today in a Los Angeles hospital months after a heart ailment. He was 54 years old.
“Duncan was indeed a great individual who believed in the good of people. He certainly inspired us all and gave us hope as John Coffey in “The Green Mile,” said Alcorn President M. Christopher Brown in a statement. “His life was well lived and we appreciate all he did for his Alcorn family. We hope only the best for his surviving family members and loved ones. May they be strengthened and comforted knowing that his contributions and legacy will live on.”
Duncan attended Alcorn in the 80′s, and was a member of the Braves basketball team.
