The Benedict College Gospel Choir won its third consecutive National Black College Alumni Hall of Fame Foundation’s Annual Black College Choir Competition title last week, besting HBCUs from around the nation in the spirited sing-off. The choir won $3,000 award and appearances on B.E.T. and The Bobby Jones Gospel Show. From MidlandsBiz.com:
“The vocal quality of this group is phenomenal. I have never seen such creativity from a collegiate gospel choir, simply excellent” said, Dr. Bobby Jones, Host of the HBCU Hall of Fame Gospel Competition. “This award from the National Hall of Fame unmistakably reflects the quality of the all the students, who participate in the program,” he added.
North Carolina A&T State University was the runner-up in the competition, and Miles College placed 3rd.
