Bowie State Student Charged with Murder of Roommate Released on Bond

]Bowie State University student Alexis Simpson is free on bond until a trial in August for the murder of her roommate Dominique Frazier last September. Simpson, 19, will be on house arrest until the trial.
“I think the judge recognized you’ve got a college student with no real record,” Miss Simpson’s attorney, Christopher Griffiths, said. “She certainly is not a threat to the community or to anyone.”
During an April 5 hearing, Judge Sean D. Wallace granted Miss Simpson a $250,000 bond, according to court records. She was released from the Prince George’s County jail April 10, said John Erzen, spokesman for the county’s State’s Attorney’s Office. (Washington Informer)
Simpson admitted to stabbing Frazier in the neck after an altercation in which she said she felt threatened her. Simpson had been in jail since the murder.
PG county is disgusting, murder someone and get out on bond… Sleep peacefully in her home and bed at night while your victim is dead 10 feet under decaying.
LET ME EXTEND THIS ONE STEP FURTHER. mind you, like everyone else posting, i am entitled to voicing and standing by my opinion.
1. if my sister killed her boyfriend IN ANGER,or if GOD FORBID my son lost it and killed his woman IN ANGER, i would stand by that he/ or she was wrong. i would support and stick by them because they are family but murder is murder, manslaughter is manslaughter. you do the crime, you do the time in my book <–opinion. "accidental murder" or " 'this-bitch-done-got-on-my-last-nerve-im-bout-to-stab-her-ass murder".
S/N: i don't think that "murders happen everyday" is good a statement..period. IF someone murdered your mother, "oh, well shit, (shrug 2x) murders happen everyday". I think you would be singing a different tune, I'm SURE.
women who kill their boyfriends/husbands in self defense, from all the times i've heard or read, they were protecting themselves from being attacked, etc. from what it seems and what is said in Alexis and Dominique's case, is that she went back for the scissors…in anger. notice the difference? if evidence shows she was protecting herself, i'll quiet my cry just a tad.
2. you don't have to exude any characteristics to being a criminal all the time be called one. like i said, she could've been the nicest person but like anything in this world, it takes only time eff up, and Alexis did by taking that woman's only child.
3. the events leading up to it wouldn't have made it right to pull out ANYTHING ON no person. this may sound wrong and maybe a little contradictory, but i would found all types of ways to deal with the problem, whether we would've fought all night, if the threat heightened, i would've found the nearest RA ON duty, etc. some type of route to fixing the problem that night but going b a c k to my room and then pulling out a scissors? GTFOH. then again we'll see if evidence proves what was said.
do i think she is threat, in some ways, YES, but do i think she is MENACE to society, NO. but she should spending a good amount of time thinking about what she did.

I can’t wait for her trial in November if the State can get their crap in order. She needs to be sentenced, not in her home in District Heights chillin. I don’t care about route of problems, her mentality. I only care about the crime she committed, no one else in that room stands accused of a crime. No one else hit and run, no one else has a record. It’s time to learn a lesson behind bars.

SMH…there must be something in the kool-aid…..if she wasnt a threat to begin with, why did they put her in jail to period? When you are commited, you are there for two reasons: 1. You got caught 2. You dont deserve freedom. Just because a person sat in the pokie for a few months does not equate to them ” no longer being a threat”. Lets remember why she was put away– she commited the most violent crime MURDER, no doubt about it. I say they lock her up and throw away the key. Sorry does not bring someone back but giving her the same eternal sentence she gave the person she attacked seems fair.
I don’t have to know her nor does anyone have to know her to know that you don’t have to inflict harm on someone with got damn sharp object, even if it was just to scare her! if after the argument, the jumping and fighting had occured, & Alexis felt some type of way, she should’ve handled the situation differently. end of story. Forgive who? the only person that will have the right to forgive is Domonique’s mother. I will not forgive her, if i knew her i don’t think i would either. I could lose it many times with a person i would NOT resort to stabbing someone. so miss me with that she’s nice BS, im sure she is a nice person and i’m sure she was whenever she met someone, but that don’t change what she did. Her being nice ain’t got shit to do with her stabbing someone. she wasn’t nice then was she?
Exactly. You do not need to know her to know that her method of handling this situation was incorrect. She can be the nicest person in this world but she still murdered someone and there is no forgiving that. Like Yani said, the only person who has the right to forgive is Domo’s mom but other than that, Alexis is a threat to me. How do I know she wont do the same thing to me or to my friends? I’ll be damned if she were to come up here and get hyped up at anyone I associate myself with. She committed a crime and it’s messed up that she’s free to live her life (even on house arrest youre still free to society) while Dominique is resting in peace.

My point is this, if God can love us and forgive us for our many sins and perversions; who are we not to forgive others? Even better, can you expect forgiveness if you yourself are not willing to forgive? Doesn’t matter if she’s a nice person. Think of it like this, if shorty murdered your sister in cold blood, you wouldn’t be saying this right now. No one has the right to forgive her but the family that she harmed and God. But we all have the right to feel some type of way on her release because it affected us in some way. Luckily God is forgiving. We all know this. But no one on this earth is God. So we don’t need to forgive. She can be as nice of a person and as good of a person she wants to be, at the end of the day, she stabbed her… with a damn scissor. That image of all that blood on them walls will never escape my memory.

If she murdered someone in my family; at some point I would have to learn to forgive her so that I can be forgiven of my sins. Would it be easy? Um No, but it is required if we are to be forgiven.
How can you say she is not a threat??????? She MURDERED someone. It doesn’t matter how long someone is in jail for. She will ALWAYS be a threat to ANY community if she doesn’t know how to control her damn anger and thinks that stabbing someone is the way to solve an issue. I certainly do not want her back on this campus and I’m pretty sure when everyone else on campus gets word of this they will be truly upset.

She killed someone obviously she is a threat to the community or someone smh this whole society is corrupt.
