Alabama A&M officials say a broken boiler is to blame for a campus dorm being without hot water for seven consecutive weeks. The university is working to get a new part for the system in all-female Palmer Hall, but has no timetable for repair.
“You can’t just go to Walmart or Home Depot and buy a part,” Kobler said Tuesday. “A part has to be fabricated for that. Of course, we can wish for the part to be fabricated in a two-week timeline. It just depends on how long it takes to get the part fabricated.” (Huntsville Times)
Officials also say that students who have not opted to move to a nearby dorm can walk to another facility to shower.[/mpoverlay]

Plan #1 bring in portable showers and security for the women.
