Students from West Virginia State University’s chapter of the National Broadcasting Society – Alpha Epsilon Rho recently accepted the award for national chapter of the year at the society’s annual meeting last week in Washington D.C. It is the highest chapter honor presented by the 70-year-old organization.

“We are so proud of our students for their accomplishments recognized at this year’s national convention,” said Assistant Professor Sherri Shafer, who along with Kim Cobb serves as co-advisor to the campus chapter. “It shows the hard working attitude of our students, their creativity and dedication to their craft.”

NBS-AERho is comprised of students with career interests in media and communications. Two years ago, the WVSU chapter was recognized as the ‘Rookie Chapter of the Year.’
