[mpoverlay]Cheyney University last week honored its student athletes with a ‘mock tail’ at the home of university president Michelle Howard-Vital. The event was held to recognize national student athlete day.

Those students that were recognized included the 42 student-athletes that had a cumulative grade point average above a 3.0, 28 student athletes that were on the Dean’s List (3.5 of higher) for the Fall 2011 semester plus an additional 18 student athletes that earned above a 3.25 last semester. 

Traditionally celebrated on April 6 every year, the Cheyney University celebration was pushed back a week due to the holiday.[/mpoverlay]
