Students from Grambling State University will soon be working with veteran film and television producers to create a TV pilot on the GSU campus this fall. The Film Workforce Training Program will give 15 students a chance to pair with directors, scouts, cinematographers and makeup artists to learn more about the industry, and to produce the inaugural episode of an original sitcom.
Lena Wilson-Claybon, GSU film studies instructor and director of the program, said students will shadow members of the television crew throughout the process.
“The students are going to get valuable experience, hands-on training and connections with people in the industry. This is valuable experience they would not have gotten otherwise,” she said.
