J. F. Drake State Students Excel at Alabama Tech Skills Competition

[mpoverlay]Students from J.F. Drake State Technical College brought back 11 medals from the recent SkillsUSA state competition in Birmingham.

The SkillsUSA event allows students at both the high school and postsecondary levels to match skills in technical disciplines such as drafting, electrical, industrial motor control, and more.

Drake State students placed in the following events: Ja-Me-S Ali, Third Place in Architectural Drafting; Qiana James, Third Place in Customer Service; Katrina Moultrie, Kristina Vick, Brittany Chadwick, Tandra Blackmon, and Carrie Atkinson, Second Place in Cosmetology Quiz Bowl; Brett Byrom, First Place in Culinary Arts; George (Victor) Harlow III, First Place in Computer Programming; Charles Potter, First Place in Technical Drafting; and Forrest Teague, First Place in Welding.
