Jackson State Associate Provost Earns International Award

Jackson State University associate provost and vice president of academic affairs James Maddirala recently received the Hind Rattan (Jewel of India) International Award from the Non-Resident Indians (NRI) Welfare Society of India. The award is given annually to 30 Indians living in other countries for their professional achievements and contributions to society.
Maddirala received his award in New Delhi from the Honorable K.C. Pant, Defense Minister of India, Supreme Court Justice Markanday Katju and Gurinder Singh, Secretary General of the NRI Welfare Society of India. The society is an Indian government and business leader group that works to foster bonds with Indians living in other countries. The words Hind Rattan in English mean Jewel of India.
