Xavier University of Louisiana today announced Jason Horn as its new athletic director. Horn, who last served as interim athletic director at the University of Detroit Mercy, replaces retired AD Dennis Cousin, with XULA officials calling him an experienced and capable leader for the Gold.
“I am elated that Mr. Horn will be joining the Xavier community,” said (XULA Vice President for Administration Ralph) Johnson. “His professional accomplishments are remarkable and he has extensive and successful experience in athletics operations. He will be a tremendous asset as we position all aspects of the Xavier athletics program for enhanced success.”
Horn has served in executive sports marketing stops at Northwestern State University, the University of Central Florida, Bowling Green University, and the NBA’s Detroit Pistons.
Horn’s appointment comes one day after Xavier’s women’s basketball team captured its fourth Gulf Coast Athletic Conference championship in five years.
