Jerome Fitch Named Claflin Athletic Director

Dr. Jerome Fitch, a tenured coach and athletic director in HBCU culture, was today announced as Claflin University’s new athletic director. Dr. Fitch takes over for the retiring Dr. Timothy Autry.
In a release, the school lauded Dr. Fitch’s fundraising track record at previous stops, hoping that his experience will spur alumni and corporate giving towards improved facilities and sports branding.
“I want to explore avenues we haven’t in the past but continue to call upon our friends, alumni and corporate sponsors for support,” he said. “We will aim to improve our facilities to the point where they become the envy of any athletics program at the Division II level.”
