MEAC Fines BCU’s Brian Jenkins for Criticism of ‘Worst Officiating He’s Ever Seen’

The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference today announced a fine for Bethune-Cookman head football coach Brian Jenkins, for his criticism of conference officials following the Wildcats’ 38-14 road win over North Carolina Central last Saturday.

“It is unfortunate that Coach Jenkins decided to violate the conference’s policy on criticizing officials,” (MEAC Commissioner Dennis) Thomas said. “I hope that in the future that he will be in compliance with the policy.”

Jenkins told the Durham Herald-Sun that the officiating, which resulted in 24 penalties for 232 yards against BCU, was “some of the worst officiating I’ve ever seen.”

What was the fine? Hopefully not more than a few bucks because truth is truth and MEAC officials, from the games I have seen, mostly on TV, over the years, are the worst of all D1AA/FCS football.
