Thank you for your interest in supporting the 2014 Dillard University National HBCU Media Week which will draw more than 300 executives, faculty members, students and alumni from historically black college and university campuses throughout the United States and will feature two major events: the HBCU Media Summit and HBCU Awards.
HBCU Media Summit
The HBCU Media Summit is presented by the HBCU Digest, the national news resource of record for historically black colleges and universities. The Summit is designed to engage the national HBCU community in media literacy and development and will provide best practices in media culture building for HBCU communities from around the nation. Through dialog with practicing journalists, administrators, PR professionals, and student media leaders, the Summit assists in providing a focused, national media strategy for HBCUs. Takeaways will include:
- Relationship building strategies with local and national media, and establishing mutual expectations between reporters and institutions
- Cultivating HBCU-operated and monetized media outlets in print, radio, television and Internet
- Effective communications with alumni to engage in policy, fiscal and strategic direction of the university, to translate the common message of progress to outside communities through media.
