North Carolina Central University Dean Ontario Wooden has been arrested and charged with assaulting a female employee last month.
According to the Associated Press, Wooden allegedly grabbed and shoved the woman against a cabinet, causing her bruises and scratches on her arms and shoulders. NCCU officials cited a policy of not commenting on personnel issues in response to media inquiries.
Wooden is the Dean of the University College, a retention program aimed at acclimating incoming freshman to academic and social success through their first two years at the university.
