NCCU Drumline Reinstated After Hazing Investigation, Students to Perform Community Service

Written by , Posted in Marching Band, North Carolina, North Carolina Central University, Students

Students in the North Carolina Central University marching band drumline were found to have participated in hazing, and will face community service and a mandatory hazing prevention workshop as a result.

WRAL reports that NCCU announced the findings and sanctions earlier today, which will also include heightened supervision of the band members during practices.

“NCCU maintains a zero-tolerance policy on hazing. Hazing is a criminal behavior, as well as a direct violation of the university’s Student Code of Conduct and North Carolina General Statutes,” officials said in the statement.
