North Carolina A&T to Begin Construction on $90 Million New Student Union
North Carolina A&T University will begin construction on a state of the art student union building sometime this year, and the $90 million price tag is worth the cost, according to Andrew Perkins, assistant vice chancellor for facilities and engineering.
The current student union was build in 1969 and according to Perkins, “is a woefully inadequate space for us to use. It does not replicate the level of students that are here.”
While N.C. A&T has renovated the building numerous times, the last renovation taking place in 2000, Perkins says these are merely bandaids and not enough.
