North Carolina Central University students were recognized at the 23rd Annual North Carolina Consortium for International and Intercultural Education (NCCIIE) Model United Nations Conference held in Greensboro March 22 – 25.
The NCCIIE Model United Nations is a simulation of the United Nations and brings together students, faculty and administrators from colleges and universities across the state.
At the conference, students serve as delegates of selected nations in simulated United Nations proceedings; they follow U.N. Rules of Procedure and Robert’s Rules of Order to negotiate resolutions. Topics are internationally focused and cover a range of topics: nuclear proliferation, crimes against humanity, global energy prices and fluctuating currency values.
