Savannah State Earns Accreditation Reaffirmation
Written by HBCU Digest, Posted in Academics, Georgia, Savannah State University
Savannah State University yesterday announced its reaffirmation of accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. The reaffirmation takes Savannah State off of warning status, given last December for not having enough full-time faculty members in its criminal justice program.
SSU has increased the number from two to five professors.
“The administration is committed to maintaining faculty assignments consistent with SSU’s normal teaching loads, and maintaining the integrity and effectiveness of its academic programs,” said SSU President Cheryl D. Dozier. “This is a banner day for so many faculty and staff members who have worked diligently to earn the SACS reaffirmation.”
