Savannah State Picked Last in MEAC Preseason Poll

Although picked to finish last, Savannah State University received one vote to win the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference in a preseason poll announced Friday during the MEAC’s preseason luncheon in Norfolk, Va.
South Carolina State was the favorite in voting among league coaches and sports information directors. SSU has not produced a winning season since 1998, but that did not stop one coach or sports information director from picking the Tigers to win the MEAC during their inaugural season as a conference member.
