Soul Bowl Returns as Magnolia Heritage Classic

Written by , Posted in Alcorn State University, Jackson State University, Mississippi, Sports

ASU and rival Jackson State University will return to Lorman, MS on November 17 for the return of the Soul Bowl, renamed and retooled as the Magnolia Heritage Classic. From the release:

The “Return of the Soul Bowl”, formerly known as the Capital City Classic, will be held at the Jack Spinks-Marino Casem Stadium at 2:00 p.m. on the historic campus of Alcorn and incorporate an array of special events and activities for everyone that will be filled with celebrity guests including a Classic hospitality tent, live music soundstage, the 5th quarter battle of the bands, an exciting postgame concert and much more.

Alcorn State opted out of the Capital City Classic in July, returning a classic rivalry to a home and home format and marking the reinvention of a huge money maker for the Braves and the city.
