Jackson State University held a small ‘welcome home’ pep rally for student athlete and Olympian Anaso Jobodwana. Jobodwna advanced to the finals of the men’s 200-meter dash at the London Olympic Games, finishing eighth with a personal best time of 20.27.

Jobodwana is projected to be among the best sprinters in the world and a contender in the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio.

Jackson State’s Anaso Jobodwana Advances to Olympic 200-Meter Final

Jackson State University sophomore Anaso Jobodwana pushed Olympic sprinting legend Usain Bolt to the wire in the semifinal of the 200-meter dash this afternoon, but finished second with a time of 20.27 to advance to the medal race. Jobodwana, running for South Africa, figures to be among the top contenders to medal in tomorrow’s final heat.
