Tennessee State, Jackson State Extend Southern Heritage Classic Matchup to 2019

Tennessee State University and Jackson State University have reached an agreement to meet in the annual Southern Heritage Classic through 2019, Classic founder Fred Jones yesterday announced.
“We are extremely excited and pleased to be continuing our affiliation with the Southern Heritage Classic. It is one of our premier football games every year that allows us opportunities to play one of historical rivals at a great neutral venue in the Liberty Bowl. We are looking for great games, competition and exposure for both universities for these next seven years.”
The agreement is a five-year extension of a deal that was set to expire in 2014.
