A Tennessee State University student is in stable condition after being shot and robbed inside of his dorm room early this morning, the Tennessean Newspaper is reporting.
TSU spokesman Rick Dela Haya says the freshman from Memphis was inside the campus residence hall, when at 4:30 a.m., he was forced into his dorm room by a man who tried to rob him.
When the student refused to give him anything, the man shot him in the leg and left with his laptop computer and video game system, Dela Haya says.
TSU officials say there are no leads on if the attacker is also a university student.
