Texas Southern University last week filed a lawsuit against KAI Design, alleging negligence and breach of contract for damaged and defective sections of its recently opened student recreation center. From UltimateWestU.com:
The suit alleges that by June 2002, the recreation center slab moved, which caused cracks in the terrazzo floor system, the wall system and the ceramic tile. According to the brief, the movement also caused the aerobic room floor to warp and the windows to leak, which in turn caused the basketball court to warp. The school further claims a defective masonry wall and roof system allowed water to leak into the building.
