HBCUs should begin forging relationships with the African Union. The Congressional Black Caucus Foundation recently hosted the “Africa Braintrust” where the African Union Chairman, Dlamini Zuma, spoke. You can find it on Youtube: —->>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fULU3SLRwrs . There are additional parts to it, 3 more parts to be exact. African Americans participation in African development should be a key priority that HBCUs should be willing to champion. If China, India, and Africa’s former colonial powers can try to make investments throughout out the continent certainly the type of institutions that the first presidents of Nigeria and Ghana attended(i.e. Lincoln University, an HBCU) should be able to make a valuable contribution. The possibilities are endless. Think internationally!!!
