Virginia State Wins ‘People’s Choice’ Regional Award in National Choir Competition

The Virginia State University Gospel Chorale was recently dubbed the regional ‘People’s Choice’ winner of Verizon’s national “How Sweet the Sound” gospel competition. The Chorale won $5,000 for its performance in the Verizon Center in Washington D.C. last Wednesday.
VSU was the only HBCU participant in the regional competition.
