Trustees at West Virginia State University today announced increases in the university’s graduation rate, enrollment and retention rates. The Charleston Gazette reports that all statistics saw an increase of at least one percent, and play a big role in the university finishing its fiscal year with a surplus exceeding $500K.
“This is the first time we’ve been able to announce an increase, folks,” said Larry Rowe, chairman of the WVSU Board of Governors. “Our graduation rate is up. Our headcount enrollment is up. Our retention rate is up. Our budget is balanced. This is a material change.” (The Charleston Gazette)[/mpoverlay]
