TSPNSports.com has posted five reasons why Grambling’s State Fair Classic loss to Prairie View A&M was historic. And in the process, offers grim potential on a GSU loss to Mississippi Valley State this weekend.
It begs the question – what happened to Grambling football?
Just a year removed from a SWAC football championship, the Tigers boast a decent passing offense, but can’t run the ball at all. They’ve lost games in every which way you can imagine. Late and close to Alcorn State and Alabama State, and in blowouts against TCU and Alabama A&M.
Could it be the lack of a running game? A distracted Doug Williams fresh off of the tenuous off-season contract situation?
Or is it shades of last year’s 1-4 slide that eventually led to a SWAC title win?
